The material that Perry utilizes is a versatile resin compound called Pellucida that can be presented in a variety of colors and textures. The burlwood used to mount many of the pieces is manzanita. All of the wood used by the Studio is harvested only on a sustainable yield basis under strict governmental control. When skilled craftsmen, most of whom have worked with Perry for many years, have interpreted, cut and polished the burl and mounted it with a sculpture, the result is a happy marriage of the art of nature and man.
