Edward Teach , was better known as Blackbeard! Blackbeard demise was by Maynard. Blackbeard's severed head, its tongue lolling gruesomely from it's mouth, swung from the bowspirit of the victorious Maynard's sloop as the lieutenant set the sail back to his base in Virginia. The multilated body of the pirate was thrown overboard in Ocracoke where he fell. Legend has it that the headless corpse swam around the sloop several times in defiance before it sank from sight! This Blackbeard flag is 2-sided and is made of heavy nylon with brass grommets. Made in the USA!!! |
